Hail Fall in Hyderabad

Hail is a form of solid precipitation. It consists of balls or irregular lumps of ice, each of which is called a hailstone.

Today I experienced Hail fall for the first time. I was at my friends house, just 2 minutes of walking distance from my house. We were preparing some PPT's for the seminar. Suddenly we notice that it is raining heavily outside. And then the power went off.

There was a different kind of sound now like stones being thrown on the roof, so I come out to the balcony just to see 1-2 cm sized ice cubes falling from the sky like raindrops. Then I realize that this is what is called as the hail fall or hail storm. 

I quickly opened my phone camera and recorded it. Here is the video.

And that's how I experienced hail fall for the first time  on 6th April 2012.
